Working field: The selec­ted postdoc­toral research assist­ant will have oppor­tun­it­ies to work in an enrich­ing inter­dis­cip­lin­ary envir­on­ment, with sig­ni­fic­ant poten­tial for broad impact in terms of tech­no­logy devel­op­ment, industry involve­ment, and edu­ca­tional ini­ti­at­ives. He/she is expec­ted to develop an inde­pend­ent research pro­gram, pro­act­ively seek­ing external fund­ing oppor­tun­it­ies (with industry and fund­ing agen­cies) in col­lab­or­a­tion with the mem­bers of the Chair, and to serve in a lead­er­ship role with respect to ment­or­ing of stu­dents research at the BSc, MSc and PhD level. Also, the postdoc­toral research assist­ant is expec­ted to sup­port the teach­ing offer­ing of the Chair, in the areas of Com­mu­nic­a­tions and Inform­a­tion The­ory, wire­less com­mu­nic­a­tions and related Areas.

Requirements: Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) and a PhD degree in a field related to Sci­ence of Inform­a­tion (for example: Inform­a­tion The­ory, Com­mu­nic­a­tion Sys­tems and Net­works, Chan­nel Cod­ing, Source Cod­ing, Stat­ist­ical Sig­nal Pro­cessing, Machine Learn­ing, Dis­trib­uted Con­trols and Cyber-Phys­ical Sys­tems). Can­did­ates must have a solid track record of research in one or more areas related to the research agenda of the Chair, and have excel­lent Eng­lish oral and writ­ten com­mu­nic­a­tion skills (pro­fi­ciency in Ger­man is a plus).
